This project relocated an existing City arterial roadway outside the safety area of Runway 27, including a new 60-foot span bridge over Bachelor Creek and signalized intersection at Valley Mall Boulevard. Other significant improvements included a new airport service road, security fencing and regrading of the runway safety area.
Throughout this project we coordinated closely with multiple jurisdictions, including the Yakima Air Terminal, Federal Aviation Administration, City of Yakima, Yakima County, and the City of Union Gap.
HLA provided project formulation, environmental compliance support, engineering design and contract documents, and full construction observation, surveying and management.
