In an effort to replace aging equipment and focus on snow and ice removal from grooved asphalt surfaces, YKM and HLA have diligently pursued justification and funding for several equipment procurement projects. HLA coordinated with FAA regarding level and extent of requirements for these projects. YKM purchased a high speed broom and carrier vehicle in 2014, and a Snow Blower and Carrier Vehicle, and two Snow Sweepers and Carrier Vehicles in 2018 and 2019.
HLA prepared contract documents, cost estimates, and project schedules for all projects. Analysis was required for each procurement to justify equipment size and type which was based on annual aircraft operations, inspection and Airport recommendations, and available SAE and advisory circulars.
HLA provided the final inspection, prepared the final project report, and assisted with grant closeout.
