City of Yakima
Phases 1 and 2
Phase 1 work for irrigation improvements in West Yakima was completed in 2005, with the remaining work for Phase 2 completed in 2014. Using sliplining, pipe bursting, horizontal directional drilling and trenching methods, approximately 24,400 linear feet of existing pipes, ranging in size from 2- to 12-inch diameter, were replaced, and approximately 480 service connections were installed. Improvements also included surface restoration for roadway areas, gravel surfacing, cement concrete curb and gutter, and residential lawns. Construction was scheduled for both phases to be complete in time for the start of the irrigation season.
HLA services included design plans and specifications, neighborhood meetings, engineer’s estimate, assistance during bidding, construction observation and administration, and record drawings of the completed improvements.
