Plath Hall is the first expansion outside of Perry Technical Institute’s (PTI) original campus since its conception over 75 years ago. The new 38,000 square-foot building is home to PTI’s Instrumentation and Industrial Automation program.
Plath Hall is located in a remote area of the campus and extensive coordination was required with the City of Yakima to identify traffic needs.
Improvements are also located in the approach to one of the runways at the Yakima Air Terminal. Coordination and approval were required from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). HLA facilitated approval for the building development with the FAA and the Yakima Air Terminal.
HLA was responsible for preparing a grading plan to balance onsite earthwork, designing a stormwater system featuring infiltration swales, a new watermain loop, and sanitary sewer service to accommodate the new building and potential future expansion.
Plath Hall is also Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified, and HLA prepared the required documentation for the site credits.
