Prosser - WWTP Reuse of Plant Effluent for Process Water Needs

To reduce City costs associated with potable water use, the City desired to use the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) effluent for process water needs at the treatment plant. Modifications were made to connect treatment plant effluent to the process water loop by separating the potable water system from the process water system. Pump and piping modifications were made to supply effluent for existing process needs at a constant pressure, and maintain potable water as a back-up to the process water system when needed. Improvements resulted in a potable water cost savings that paid for the improvements in less than two years.

HLA services included field investigation necessary for design, plans, specifications, cost estimate, bidding services, construction observation and administration, start-up assistance, and project close-out.
