The City of Sunnyside received funding from the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) Urban Arterial Program to reconstruct Midvale Road, from the WSDOT right-of-way turn-back to Duffy Road. Work included removal of existing deteriorated asphalt surfacing from the travel lanes and center turn lane. The travel lanes were constructed back to original grade using six inches of new HMA. The existing asphalt at the center turn lane was crack-sealed and repaired, followed by a 3-inch overlay of new HMA. Work also included improvements to existing drainage inlets, and new pavement markings along the length of the project.
HLA services included topographic survey, field investigations, project design, preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimate, bidding assistance, services during construction, and funding administration through project closeout.
