The East Viola Avenue Watermain Improvements began in 2017, with a 6-inch pipe under I-82 being replaced with new 12-inch ductile iron watermain within a 200 foot long 30-inch steel casing bored under I-82. Work also included approximately 400 feet of new 12-inch ductile iron watermain to upsize the existing 8-inch pipe in South 22nd Street.
2021 improvements replaced approximately 4,000 linear feet of 6-inch pipe with new 12-inch diameter ductile iron watermain. New lateral connections, water services, valves, and fire hydrants were included.
HLA provided funding administration, environmental process assistance, field investigations, design, plans, specifications, cost estimate, and bidding services. Construction support included inspection, surveying, construction meetings, submittal review, and other administrative tasks. HLA assisted with WSDOT permitting for boring under I-82.
