These improvements which increased reliability, efficiency, and capacity were needed due to repeated system failures at all three of Zillah’s source wells. Two of the wells were completely reconstructed with new well control buildings with separate meter/piping, electrical, and future chlorine disinfection rooms. All well sites received new submersible well pumps, variable frequency drives, electrical and control system improvements, site improvements, and replacement of the water main to the existing distribution system. Sand separation equipment was installed at two of the sources to reduce the amount of sand entering the system.
HLA provided funding assistance, survey, plans, specifications, cost estimate, and construction administration and inspection services. Electrical and control system engineering design was provided by HLA’s electrical subconsultant, Connetix Engineering, Inc.
